What's up ? I hope you feel fine.
Well, you all anticipated it: "Something is gonna happen regarding TTIP protests before the EU elections" - and now it's fix.
As the title hints, on the 19th of April 2014 - that's in approximately 1 month - there will be an international protest day against TTIP
and all the other nasty stuff trading our social acchievements away like CETA, TPP, FISA, etc.

Please make sure, that you participate at the Stop TTIP Protests on the 19th of April 2014 !
For this please put this To-Do-list into action:

1. Set up one google protest map for all of us, if noone else was faster than you in doing so: https://ttip.piratenpad.de/Protestmap-umsetzen

2. Organize a stop TTIP demo in your place, at least in your capital city
- as fast as possible - entry the demo location in the google protestmap or in this pad, so that someone else can do the entry in the google protest map - http://titanpad.com/19thaprilprotests
-- additionally, set up a related facebook event group for your demo and link it in the google protest map or the pad; neutral means, that
the related facebook event group is not set up by accounts, which are associated with the pirate party on first sight, and that
the facebook event group is not pirate branded

3. promote your demo so that a lot of people will participate !

As soon as the pirate movement made it's contribution to make sure that things start rolling, it's time to get in contact with coalitions of actions and other organizations and
ask them to join. It's better to do this as neutral as possible for instance by using neutral accounts in order to get in contact with others and first of all contacting
organizations, which have no problem to join a demo where also the pirate party is.

Stop TTIP Protests - worldwide - update (31.03.2014)


Hi folks,

3 very important things/news:

1. Because a lot of people considered the 19th of april ("holy saturday/Easter") to be a bad date for the international demo day against TTIP & Co. the main active pirates of this initiative decided to postpone the demo day; the demo day will be within the timespan between end of april and mid of may; you decide on what day exactly the demo day will be, and that by doodle. The pool will be open for 7 days. Please, please only do your entry shortly before the pool is closed (so, from sunday noon to sunday evening [06.04.2014]). The reason for this is, that we don't want to scare NGOs away; we want to avoid, that an NGO goes into the doodle and then sees that the doodle is flooded with pirate parties.

2. This is really a key moment of this initiative: Please as fast as possible get in contact with all thinkable NGOs and bring them to vote on this pool, as well. The more organizations get incorporated this way, the more organizations will bear the initiative right from the beginning, and the stronger the initiative will be ! The very beginning of an initiative the chances are the best that an NGO is willing to participate.
- For getting into contact with NGOs use a neutral e-mail account or twitter account, which doesn't make it obvious that you're pirates
- prioritize NGOs, which are likely to participate at the international demo day against TTIP & Co. although in 2 months there will be elections in the EU - so first of all head for NGOs, which are easy-going or beyond the EU.
- You will find text templates for this networking task in the pad. They're individualized for each respective recipient; example: Regarding Occupy the addition in the title is "fight the back door deal of the 1 %" instead of "fight the ACTA zombies! (which is good for net politics NGOs)". In addition the explanation section of the cover letter offers space for individualizing: example: regarding the organization "March against Monsanto", last point,
"The confrontation line is not USA VS EU, but the people VS major corporations LIKE MONSANTO"

3. Plz entry more demo locations of your place in the protestmap; for this go to this page here - http://stopttipprotest.wikia.com/wiki/D ... protestmap - and entry 2 informaion:
1. Say where you're going to plan a demo (what city)
2. Additionally give a neutral link for further informations about the local demo; this can be a sub page of the wiki or a neutral facebook event page with promise option (we can count all FB promises worldwide together by a statistic web site)
To do this third point is VERY IMPORTANT and VERY EASY - everyone can do it NOW - and it JUST TAKES LESS THAN 10 MINUTES.
You don't need any concrete planning or exchange with other groups before doing this entry.
The thing is this: What we're aiming at is, that by entries like the ones you're doing right after this e-mail, a rudimentary, international demo network is materializing on the protestmap; if we have this, ANYONE can start promoting the protestmap in all thinkable ways and so will lead masses of people to say "oh cool ! Is something happening at my home town ? Oh, yeah ! Cool, there's a Facebook event page to the local demo at my home town, I will join it and promise to participate !" - but that only works like that, if YOU do your bit to create this rudimentary international demo network. Right now there are 4 countries participating and overall 7 demos - we can do better !

First of all,

sry for not reacting so fast; I'm pretty busy. Just to end the delay:

- Stuttgart is put on the protestmap 8 hours ago; thx 4 the advice...

- the doodle ended, the international demo day is fix since last weekend –

against TTIP & Co. will be on 15.05.2014, so in approximately 5 weeks, if you
didn't notice, yet...

- Brussels also is put on the protestmap, as they've planned to do a stopTTIP
demo on the 15.05., anyway (meaning the PAFTA group among Ben Borges –
http://www.pafta.eu/ ), so nice doodle result ^^ ...

- Düsseldorf will follow within the next days; on Friday I'm going to visit a RL
meeting of the pirates in Düsseldorf to make sure, that they will participate
-- the demo route in Düsseldorf will end at the NRW parliament; on the 15.05.
the NRW parliament has a big meeting; so we make use of it by making one of our
pirates in the NRW parliament come out then and hold a speech; probably from
every parliamentary group then someone will come outside to talk to the
demonstrants – so good timing regarding the date result also from this
perspective ^^

- going to RL meetings of local pirates and motivate them to start a stopTTIP
demo on the international demo day against TTIP & Co. is a very effective
approach, btw...

- So, currently we have 12 demo locations, spread across 5 countries; another
location clearly following by the end of this weekend.

- As we had to learn, making an international demo day by going to all groups
across the world at the same time is too optimistically planned nowadays;
so now we're doing it step by step: First making everything clear in one's
respective own country; as soon as all looks decent in one's own country, one
can switch into turning to the public stronger and hint them on the
map (so, message boards, twitter, Youtube-Videos, google+, RL, and so on =>
promises rising) hoping that this will motivate other countries to join or – the
ones, which are reserved right now – participate stronger; and then, as soon as
we finally have such an international network of demo locations, approaching
NGOs once again and ask them to participate... if we do it like this, the NGOs
won't have fear that the protest will be too small and
we focus our ressources where it makes sence...

- But you all don't need to wait on anyone, pirate movement, if you want to see
stopTTIP demos on the 15.05.2014 – just 7 to 10 days before EU elections 2014
(!) - well, then simply do so; noone is prohibiting you to do so ...
-- and if you're not from the EU, don't feel not concerned; this day is not only
to demonstrate against TTIP, but also CETA, TPP, NAFTA, TRIPS etc. ; and if you
are not concerned by any of those international agreements,
then do solidarity demos for the people, who are concerned by those trade
agreements; you have to keep in mind: Making this international demo day BIG
probably is the biggest election help you can do for the EU pirate parties right
before the EU elections; and you know how crucial it is for all of us to enter
EU parliament with pirates ! This is our grande final !

- if you already have started a Facebook event page with promise opportunity to
your local demo, you can set the page open; no need to make it closed, so that
people outside of Facebook can't see what's going on inside ...

- I'm going to work off the demo overview wiki pages for all countries now;
that's where anyone can entry details of the respective demo. I'm going to do
this by using templates, which result in yellow boxes on the wiki page;
if you want, you can edit the template of the respective country to translate it
– then the yellow boxes will be in the official language of your country. All
demos on the protestmap will get a link to their respective sections on the demo
overview pages.
