I'm the current Press Officer for PPAU. Our clearance procedure for press
releases can be found here
(
http://pirateparty.org.au/wiki/Press_Re ... stribution).
Our press releases are usually jointly written via EtherPad. When they are
complete the Press Officer and one member of the elected National Council (our
board) must agree to it.
It is then sent out. Most of the time we have three people read and agree to it
before we send the press release. They are the Press Officer, Secretary and
another board member.
This allows us to respond quickly, but maintain some oversight.
When we are asked for interviews in advance, I normally receive phone calls and
ask them to email me details, which I forward to the National Council with a
recommendation for who should do it. We usually come to a consensus over this.
If it is a text interview, anyone interested and available contributes to
answering the questions that we are given.
If I am called and people want a few questions answered, I normally give them
some answers. If they want a long interview, I tell them who to contact for it.
The National Council and Press Officer are usually responsible for approving
any statements that are issued. We do not vote, but agree via email.
Regards,
