PPI Press Team

Ahoy,
it's time to board the press all over the world. Up to now PPI's press work was unorganized and done in a best-effort way. There was no press team and there were no real processes. It's time to change this situation now. As offered in his candidature for the PPI board, Denis took care of setting up a functioning press team, and I volunteered to help. To get the media coverage we deserve as PPI, we need you!
The plan is simple: We build a team of many pirates who are willing to help with and participate in press related work. Based on the Project Charter [1] Denis and I wrote processes and guidelines. Now the processes wait to be ... processed.
For the moment, the work is all about writing press releases and dealing with press inquiries. We also take care of communiques for PPI members, if their distribution on an international level (within PPI members or media) is required.
Both, experts and novices are welcome. Of course a good knowledge of English is required. We will try to train every novice on the neccessary skills. The work will mostly be required on short notice if something important happens and a press release is needed. We will also have regular meetings to review the work and processes and - of course - get to know each other, so we can work as a team.
We aim to have at least one contact person to each national press group. This person doesn't neccessarily have to join the work of the group, but should be able to provide input on internationally relevant matters in their country, for us to distribute these to the international media or other PPI members.
