Ποια ΣΥΝΤΟΜΕΥΣΗ & ποιο ΟΝΟΜΑ αρέσει στους ΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ Πειρατές για το Ευρωπαϊκό Κόμμα (ή Οργανισμό)?
Θα γράψουμε την τελική απάντηση στο pad.

We use this in PP-CAT. In fact, our abbreviation is the full domain: "PIRATA.CAT"

PPDE uses PIRATEN, too. I think for now we use 'PPEU' for inofficial, internal use (twitter etc). For the elections PIRATES would be nice, though. (no, it is highly official and grounded in the Statutes of PP-DE. The Abbreviation is what is printed on the ballout forms) I meant PPEU and PIRATES, badly written by me

The greens use "European Greens", avoiding the word "party"
-> actually, this is not entierely correct. the domain name does not have the "party", but the logo has - http://europeangreens.eu/ it is called correctly "European Green Party". Didn't knew TY.

*The Greens formal name is "European Green Party", abbreviated "EGP", but their statutes also recognice the name "The European Greens". The latter is the name they usually present externally. I would opt for a similar approach for us. Formally we could be called "Pirate Party of Europe", abbreviated "PPEU" but at the same time also recognizing "European Pirates" as the name we present externally. +1+2

Does not make an obvious difference between EU or only European pirates. All can be part of it, though only EU pirates can participate in EU election lists.
Will we be EU-only? Plz look at https://eu.piratenpad.de/scope not EU only, but obviously we might not be able to have non-EU candidates on European Parliament election lists. Yeah, but the lists come from the national parties anyways, so it's not that important I think. If we allow non-EU parties in we should have the name reflect that
