The U.S. credit card companies Visa and MasterCard have decided to block all payments to VPN services, ie services that allows one to hide his IP address on the Internet.

- This makes it harder to be anonymous online and easier to monitor what everyone is doing. Visa and MasterCard are the Internet's enemies, says Christian Engström, MEP for the Pirate Party.

One of the Swedish victim services is Ipredator, run by former Pirate Bay spokesman Peter Sunde.

- It is completely unacceptable that the credit card companies unilaterally decide which companies can operate in Sweden. They should accept all lawful activities.

It's important to recognize that it is not a crime to remain anonymous, says Engstrom.
