In order to keep you informed, please let me shortly update you about one
interesting news from Czechia. After months of development, a week ago,
the PP-CZ launched its new main website with a brand new design, which is
not the only change. The level of participation that we allow and
encourage with this website built on DokuWiki is something that other
Czech political parties can't even think of. But now the interesting news
about the design:
Czechia is one of the few countries in the world where Google is not the
most popular search engine. The most popular is Seznam:
http://www.seznam.cz/
The PP-CZ designed the new website intentionally to look very similar, not
only because of media attention but also to demonstrate that no one can
have a monopoly on a web page layout or colors used. We hit basically all
mainstream Internet media. At the end of the previous week, the PP-CZ
chairman was on a radio in a discussion with a representative of Seznam.
Although their first reaction was that they were analyzing the situation
and were prepared to protect their "intellectual property", they confirmed
in this radio discussion that the PP-CZ did not infringe their
"intellectial property". You can compare how did we do in creating as much
similar design as possible:
