Α campaign to stop Telecoms Single Market

Hello fellow Pirates!

The EU is about to pass the Telecoms Single Market, which, among other things, includes several net neutrality busting provisions (specialized services, zero rating etc.).
It also includes provisions regarding mobile roaming. This is why everyone is voting for these new rules, as no one wants to vote against roaming.

Experts we're in contact with say that the 2014 rules are better on all fronts, even roaming.

Timeline:
* 6th of October: it will be decided if amendments can even be proposed for the ITER meeting
* 13th of October: ITER vote on the subject (with or without amendments)
* ~23rd of October: EU Parliment plenary vote

We started a petition - http://forthenet.eu - a few weeks ago before we fully understood the timeline (I hate Brussels bureaucracy).
For the past few days we've been trying to get enough information to start a proper online campaign to pressure the MEPs to at least amend the bill if not vote against it outright.

There is already a campaign by a Brussless ngo EDRi - savetheinternet.eu
We're already talking to them to see if we can find common ground and possibly merge the campaigns.

We've been in contact with Mattias and Christian (PPRU) and they told us that NGOs have pretty much given up and are now getting ready to fight with the regulator how these rules will be applied.

We have many organisations from our original campaign on standby, and we've built big lists of organisations, mediums etc. to get the word out. We'll need volunteers to get as many organisations from all member states onboard.

Anyone else want to join the fight to protect net neutrality in Europe?
